KNUCKLE GAME BOXING ACADEMY was started and formed in an Augusta Ga home garage. Founder and creator Henry Gee Aka Coach Gee, started training his 6 year old son to box which grew into a passion for coaching. The original idea was to teach his son self defense but after discovering his son’s natural talent and abilities he decided to turn his garage into a training facility. The word quickly traveled throughout the the community which lead to his garage turning into a full fledged boxing gym. The title Knuckle game came from Henry Gee constantly referring to boxing as a knuckle game. The phrase was used so much that it was only right to name his business after it. Knuckle Game later turned into Knuckle Game Boxing Academy and the rest is history!
KNUCKLE GAME BOXING ACADEMY is a pillar in the community. We pride ourselves on providing an outlet for the youth. Other sports are seasonal but boxing is year round. We are fully engaged with the youth 360 days per year. We have made our home in an area of the city which has been neglected and avoided by major businesses and brands. We are there for the ones who have been written off and forgotten about. We offer a safe clean learning environment for those searching for change. We understand the importance of community outlets and resources . Within the walls of KNUCKLE GAME BOXING ACADEMY training facility, we offer training in weight lifting ,weight loss,boxing fitness training , and boxing competition. We also offer personal private one on one classes at a different rate from gym memberships . Although we serve young and mature adults our primary focus is the youth. We understand that the future of our world greatly depends on the mental and physical health of our youth. At KNUCKLE GAME BOXING ACADEMY we understand that education is first which is why we also provide a classroom equipped with 6 computers and a printer to complete homework prior to training in a quite safe environment. We will also have substitute teachers to help and assist kids with their homework between the hours of 3:30-5:30pm. We accept ages 8-80. We have a coaching staff that has over 60+ years combined. We are already planning neighborhood events so our young members can showcase their skills learned from hard work and dedication in local boxing competitions. Henry Gee Aka Coach Gee started boxing in his mid teens. He was a promising young fighter known for his heavy hands and fast reflexes. Coach Gee blew through the competition. He won the state championship Golden Gloves which led him to national championship competitions. Family issues and a need for more income caused him to abandon his boxing career and join the military. Years later he began teaching his sons, nephews and neighborhood kids the science of boxing in his garage, which led him to becoming a dedicated young Coach. After military retirement and 20+ years of coaching, he decided to open his own boxing gym. His leadership qualities combined with his love for children and teaching made him into the ideal coach. Not only did Coach Gee become an asset for all youth, he also established a new pillar for the community in his Boxing school, known as Knuckle Game Boxing Academy. Coach Gee makes learning boxing fun by keeping it interesting and informative. There are many trainers but not many teachers in the sport of amateur boxing. Coach Gee teaches boxing. He doesn’t rush fighters, which allows them time to develop properly and build confidence, which transfers into being comfortable in the ring. He focuses on basic fundamentals and defense. Young fighters also learn life lessons from Coach Gee. He helps young men and women improve their quality of life by teaching them the benefits that stem from hard work, being honest and self belief. Teaching them that kindness doesn’t cost anything and that forgiveness is an act that is deserving to all. He helps them build character and mental strength. His teaching helps them to overcome and navigate obstacles in their lives. Immediately upon meeting Coach Gee , you will discover that he’s incredibly humble and leads with respect & kindness . He is a dedicated father to his four children, Terrell, Zion, Caden and M’Baku. He’s also one of the strongest leaders and most understanding human being that you’ll ever meet.
